Help local kids start the school year strong! Donate and sort school supplies that will be distributed to students in need across Springfield. This drive directly supports the families served by our Homework Helpers tutoring program. Every backpack, pencil, and notebook makes a difference.

Bring: Bring donated supplies: backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, folders, and crayons most needed.
Native Plant & Garden Workshop

Keep Springfield's pets safe and compliant! In partnership with a licensed veterinary team, this one-day clinic offers low-cost vaccinations, microchipping, and on-site city pet registration. Fulfills the Community Helpers membership requirement for pet registration and vaccination for members participating in K9 events.

Bring: Bring your pet on a standard leash, proof of prior vaccinations if available, and a form of ID.
National Tree Day: Permaculture & Food Forest Workshop

Celebrate National Tree Day by going beyond planting — learn how to design a thriving permaculture system! This hands-on workshop covers the core principles of permaculture design, food forest layering, and how trees, shrubs, and ground cover can work together to create a self-sustaining edible landscape. Participants will plant a tree in the community garden as part of Springfield's National Tree Day contribution.

Bring: Gardening gloves, closed-toe shoes, water bottle, sunscreen. Tools and saplings provided.
