Attendance & Commitment Policy
Attendance

Bangkok Homeschool Co-op operates on a commitment-based model. Families must commit to the entire 12-week semester with no more than one pre-planned absence. Families with more than one pre-planned absence will be placed on the waitlist. Those missing more than three weeks total will be asked to wait until the following semester. Report all absences by 8:00 AM on the day of absence to the Schedule Coordinator. In cases of family emergencies or extended illness, please contact the administration team directly.

Child Safety & Facility Guidelines
Safety

All parents must complete Child Safety training before the semester begins and sign safety agreements. Children must be supervised by their own parent at all times - students cannot attend classes with another family's parent unless pre-approved. Remove shoes before entering Rooms 1, 2, and 3. No running or loud voices inside buildings. No climbing on trees, walls, fences, or playground equipment during class time. The pool area and parking lot require adult supervision at all times. Any visitor attending more than 2 times must read the Child Safety Policy and sign the visitor agreement form.

Illness & Health Policy
Sick Leave

Children or adults showing symptoms of illness (fever, diarrhea, vomiting, flu symptoms, rash, etc.) within 48 hours prior to co-op should not attend. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning. If on antibiotics, students must have been taking medication for at least 24 hours before attending. Notify all affected families immediately if exposed to communicable diseases including colds, flu, COVID-19, chicken pox, hand-foot-mouth disease, or pink-eye. Healthy family members without symptoms may still attend classes.

Student Expectations & Discipline
Behavior

Students are expected to follow directions the first time given. BE KIND - bullying, verbal teasing, and name-calling are not tolerated. Show respect to all adults using proper titles (Mr., Mrs., Miss, Khun, or Ajarn). Electronic devices are not permitted on campus except when specifically required for a class. No talking loudly or running inside buildings. Students may not leave classrooms without teacher permission. Inappropriate behavior may result in verbal warnings, time-outs, parent contact, or in serious cases, temporary or permanent removal from class or co-op.

Dress Code
Dress

All members must dress modestly and respectfully, being sensitive to our diverse international community. Avoid clothing that is provocative, displays offensive language or symbols, or would generally be considered inappropriate for an educational environment. Communication

Primary communication is via email through our group mailing list. You are responsible for checking emails and knowing information shared. Our weekly newsletter contains important announcements, schedule updates, payment deadlines, and upcoming events. Do not unsubscribe from the co-op newsletter. Visit bangkokhomeschool.com for current class lists, schedules, and contact information. We maintain a private Facebook group for community building, but it is not the primary communication channel. Email bangkokhomeschool@googlegroups.com to reach all current member families.

Visitor Policy
Visitor

The administration team must be notified of all visitors prior to their visit. Parents of enrolled families are welcome to observe classes anytime. Prospective families may visit once to observe before applying. Adult visitors may assist in classes, observe lessons, or participate in parent activities. Visiting children's participation in classes is not guaranteed and depends on available space and materials. The host family is responsible for supervising their guest children when they cannot participate in scheduled classes. All visitors must check in at the administration table upon arrival and wear visitor name tags.

Student Supplies & Lost Items
Supplies

Required supplies for each class are listed on the website schedule page. Students are responsible for bringing requested supplies each week. All belongings should be clearly marked with the child's name. Bangkok Homeschool Co-op is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. A lost & found box is maintained near the information table - unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each semester. Lunches and art projects left behind at the end of the day will be discarded.
