Parrot Heliconia
ธรรมรักษา
Heliconia psittacorum
Rhizomatous tropical perennial with narrow banana-like leaves and upright colourful bracts. Distinct from Strelitzia reginae, the bird of paradise. Needs warmth, moisture and drainage; individual shoots flower once while the clump renews. In Japan and colder US areas, perennial survival requires a protected frost-free environment.
